Police say a father attacked daughter’s classmate after a fight

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An after-school fight landed a Cordova father behind bars.

Police said Brad Marion and his daughter showed up to a home on Amberly Way earlier this month.

Detectives said he kicked in the door, asked, “who jumped my daughter?” and then punched an 18-year-old Cordova High student in the face while flashing his gang tattoo.

The victim was too scared to talk to us on camera, but said she was badly bruised.

Marion was arrested Thursday on aggravated burglary and assault charges.

“Good decisions. Good consequences. Bad decisions. Bad consequences,” said Len Edwards with the Commission on Missing and Exploited Children.

He works with parents of troubled teens, and said kids mimic their parents’ behavior.

If their parents are violent, typically they are too.

“A lot of these children that are 14-15 years old, they are products of the street,” said Edwards.

Marion wasn’t home when we stopped by Friday even though he got out on a $25,000 bond hours before.

Marion told police he didn’t do this, because he was at work.

Authorities said they went to his work though, and records show he clocked out just before the incident happened.
