MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A $16,000 reward has been offered for information on a man who disappeared from East Memphis last week.
Shaun Hamblen, 23, was spotted getting into a car— possibly a Ford Focus — after leaving the LA Fitness at Poplar and Perkins around 5 p.m. last Thursday.
On Friday, his vehicle was located in the 4400 block of Poplar Avenue. He was nowhere to be found.
As of Monday, police said Hamblen has still not been located and his disappearance was being investigated as an abduction.
“We miss him and love him and want to put our arms around him,” said his mom, Michelle Simpson.
Simpson says her son Shaun is a creature of habit, so when he didn’t return after a trip to LA Fitness on Thursday she knew something was wrong.
Shaun had plans to go to dinner with his fiance and friends.
“Dinner is very serious for him. He would not miss dinner plans,” she said. “As a mom I am very concerned. Is he eating? Has he been fed? That’s what I think about how is he doing. Where is he?”
She’s hopeful but worried.
“He’s 23 but he will always be my baby.”
His family offered $15,000 toward a reward, while Crime Stoppers added another $1,000.
