The Watkins family was worried about all the meat in their fridge, so they started cooking while crews got to work.
“I feel they’ll have us up and running in a short time,” said Angie Watkins.
After nearly 24 hours in the dark they weren’t so optimistic on Tutwiler. A huge tree split there, pulling down power lines.
It’s hard not to sympathize with MLGW crews. Trees have knocked down power lines all over the city it’s creating a huge mess that’s blocking roads and keeping many of us in the dark
“It just happens. What do you do in a storm?” said Vernon Smith.
Minnie Mitchell sat on the porch with her son Mike in Berclair. She’s been without power for hours thanks to a neighbor’s old tree crashing down. It’s a reminder to us all of the importance of keeping them healthy before severe weather hits.
