MEMPHIS, Tenn. — More than 5,000 MLGW customers lost power Saturday night as severe thunderstorms arrived in Memphis.

As of 10 p.m. Saturday, MLGW had about 5,300 accounts experiencing outages. By 5 a.m. Sunday, that number had dropped to around 1,200.

Crews will be out all morning working to restore power.

Shelby County was under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning as the storms rolled through but little damage was reported.
