MEMPHIS, Tenn. — MLGW has restored a big power outage in the Midtown area.

The culprit was two-thirds of Substation 6 going out, according to MLGW.

About 6,000 MLGW accounts were out of power at the peak of the outage.

Each account could represent multiple people.

The blackout was most heavily concentrated in the Midtown area, but many Cooper-Young and Orange Mound residents were also affected.

The outages were reported around 5 p.m.
