Presley planes will remain at Graceland

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A big controversy is coming to a close with a happy ending at Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley.

The King of Rock and Roll’s two planes, the Lisa Marie and Hound Dog II will remain at Graceland.

The planes were on the auction block earlier this year and were set to leave Graceland sometime this month.

Lisa Marie Presley confirmed on Twitter Sunday afternoon by saying “Exiting news: I want 2 b the first to tell U: The Planes will remain at Graceland 4 ever! We own them and have fun plans 4 them as well.”

Graceland representatives sent the following statement:

Graceland is pleased that an agreement has been reached for Elvis’ two airplanes, the Lisa Marie and Hound Dog II to remain at Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis permanently. The planes have been available for tours in the Graceland visitors’ center since 1984.

Elvis Week 2015 is set for August 8th-16th and fans can expect to see both planes  on the ground.
