Students love their professors at the University of Mississippi.
Ole Miss took the top spot in a list of the schools with the overall best professors and campus compiled by RankMyProfessors.com, a site that publishes ratings sent in by students about their professors and school life.
The site used professor ratings from the past three years, with more weight given to more recent ratings, to compile the rankings. The list of highest-rated schools also took into account campus ratings.
Professors are judged on clarity and helpfulness. For the campus ratings, students rate the school based on criteria such as reputation, location, campus grounds, food and activities.
Rate My Professors said larger schools did not have an advantage in the rankings over smaller schools.
Vanderbilt University also appeared on the list, in the 10th spot, as well as a number of other Southern schools.
