MEMPHIS, Tenn. — If you’re going to be traveling in the downtown area within the next week, you need to pay attention.
MLGW crews will be on South Second Street between Beale and Dr. M.L.K. Avenue beginning Thursday afternoon.
Traffic will be reduced to just one lane.
In addition, one lane of Lt. George W Lee Avenue near South Second Street and the Weston hotel will also be closed.
MLGW said crews will begin working Friday to reinforce an electric duct line in the area, and will continue working until next Wednesday.
Drivers are encouraged to find another route, especially on Friday, Monday and Tuesday when the Memphis Grizzlies and Memphis Tigers Men’s Basketball teams play at the FedExForum.
