Residents in Midtown apartment building have power restored

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Residents in a Midtown apartment building did not have electricity for more than 27 hours.

Many in the building are elderly or have disabilities.

We received numerous calls from residents of Linda Camilla Towers, which is located at 256 South Camilla.

We’re told a generator should have kicked in, but it did not.

That left people without air conditioning and elevators.

MLGW crews restored power around 10:00 a.m. Monday.

Several residents aren’t sure how they’ll afford to replace food that spoiled during the outage.
