Reward in Monroe County Deputy shooting increased

ABERDEEN, Miss. — The reward for information leading to the arrested of the gunman who shot a Monroe County Deputy back in August has risen to $11,000.

A motorcycle driver shot Deputy Eric Sloan when the deputy pulled him over for speeding, Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said.

Sloan was wearing a protective vest and survived the shooting.

WCBI reported he has since been released from the hospital.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a red helmet with black stripes on a red speed bike with no license plate.
