CORINTH, Miss. — The reward for the capture of the man who shot a Corinth police officer has been doubled.
The new amount is $10,500.
Officer Kevin Parker, Jr. was responding to a call when he was shot around 4:40 a.m. August 20.
A possible prowler charged the officer and was able to turn the gun on him, shooting him once in the chest and once in the shoulder.
A body armor vest stopped the bullet to Parker’s chest.
The U.S. Marshals Office offered a $5,000 reward Wednesday.
The Corinth Police Department added $5,500 to the amount.
Parker is recovering and was only able to give a vague description of his attacker to police.
