WEST MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, West Memphis Police Department and the National Shooting Sports Foundation are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information regarding a recent burglary at a gun store.
According to the ATF, the One Stop Pawn on Kroger Drive was broken into and a firearm was stolen on July 30.
“We had bars on the doors and scissor gate up and everything,” said owner Anthony Rabaya.
But none of that could withstand the back of the thief’s pick up truck.
Once inside, Rabaya says the thief headed straight for the gun display.
“We got them bolted to the wall and a trigger lock on them and he just ran over there and — it took him a couple of yanks and stuff, but he finally got it off,” Rabaya.
The thief left with one 9 mm Draco, which Rabaya said sells for about $700.
.But he estimates the thief caused $20,000 in damage.
“Twenty times the amount of that gun is what it would cost me to fix all this stuff,” he said.
Following the break-in, Rabaya says his landlord installed bollards in the parking lot. Rabaya said he is offering a $1,000 reward on top of the $10,000 reward being offered by the ATF.
The suspect and his vehicle were caught on camera during the incident.
