The hiring of Jack Sammons as the Mayor’s new right hand man was big news this week.
The successful Memphis businessman has devoted many years of his life to public service from his years on the City Council to his most recent post as Chairman of the Memphis/Shelby County Airport Authority.
But now, in a move even the Mayor’s critics were forced to admit probably will help him in the elections, Sammons has responded to a call of duty to serve as CAO.
All that’s required is the approval of the Memphis City Council and the job should be his in early May.
