School employee arrested for drug possession

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — An elementary school cafeteria worker and employee with the Crittenden County Boys and Girls Club was arrested for marijuana possession.

Police said Jordan Hicks was arrested late Wednesday night at a gas station after it was discovered she had six grams of marijuana in her purse.

It’s a small amount of marijuana but some parents were still concerned.

“That is a shocker considering she’s working with a lot of kids,”  said mom Angela Gray.

She called the news of a cafeteria worker being arrested at Richland Elementary “disappointing.”

According to Police, Hicks was arrested at a gas station off South Avalon.

Hicks also worked part-time after school with the Crittenden County Boys and Girls Club.

“My son plays for the Boys and Girl’s Club so that’s very disappointing.”

The director of the Boys and Girls Club said Hicks has worked for the organization for two years and has always passed random drug tests and background checks.

He said she was suspended until further notice.

No one from the school district responded to the multiple requests made for a comment.

To be clear Hicks was not accused of anything on the school’s campus.
