SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has released an image of a missing 85-year-old woman who disappeared Monday morning.
Initial information suggested Pandora Duckett walked away from her home in the 4300 block of Rosswood in Raleigh.
Around 9:30 a.m. Monday, she was caught on camera inside a gas station at New Allen and Raleigh-Millington buying what appears to be some snacks.
According to Lt. Anthony Buckner with the sheriff’s office, a woman picked Duckett up and took her to this store, then dropped her back off on Rosswood. She drove off but then felt like something wasn’t right so drove back.
By the time she got back to the street, Pandora was nowhere to be found.
Deputies say no one has reported seeing her since. Her family fears that as the temperature continues to drop, she could be in danger.
Kirk Duckett can’t help but imagine his mother’s confusion if she’s out wandering in the cold.
“We are very worried about her. She has Alzeimer’s and we’ve never known her to just walk away like this,” he said.
His mother just moved to Raleigh from north Memphis about two months ago.
“It’s very shocking to know that your mom is missing right now,” he said. “We’ve been searching Highway 14 and the Covington Pike area as far as Jackson and Hollywood area.”
Duckett is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs around 110 pounds. She was wearing a grey jacket with grey sweatpants.
A command post has been established at Egypt Central & Singleton Parkway to help organize the search for Duckett. Forty deputies are working overtime to find her as the temperatures drop into the twenties.
Deputies also asked Memphis Police to help with the search.
“We had their helicopters up searching several miles by air, using every resource at their disposal,” Lt. Anthony Buckner, with The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, said.
