Second Street to be temporarily closed

MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  The Tennessee Department of Transportation announced  Second Street will be temporarily shut down on Tuesday as crews work on communication equipment in the area.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the section of Second Street between Jackson Avenue and Winchester Avenue (just north of the I-40 overpass) will be blocked to commuters.

Drivers will be redirected to Jackson Avenue, Front Street and Poplar Avenue.

If crews do not finish by 4p.m. on Tuesday, work will continue on Wednesday.
