NASHVILLE, Tenn.  — Tennessee’s top Republican candidates in the state’s open U.S. Senate race have released their latest fundraising hauls.

Former U.S. Ambassador Bill Hagerty announced Thursday that he’s raised $1.9 million since officially launching his campaign bid less than a month ago. Campaign spokeswoman Abigail Sigler says the total does not include personal loans or contributions from Hagerty.

Meanwhile, trauma surgeon Manny Sethi raised $339,000 from donors during the latest reporting period and loaned his campaign $500,000.

Sethi has just over $2 million cash on hand, while Hagerty has $1.8 million.

Neither candidate’s full fundraising reports had been posted by the Federal Election Commission as of Thursday.

The two GOP candidates are vying for the position being vacated by outgoing Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander.
