MEMPHIS, Tenn. –The Goodwill Village Apartments were abuzz Monday morning as officers gave chase, then shot a suspect after initially being called for a report of a suspicious person.

Instead, they found three armed men in an SUV.

“They ran the tag information, and the vehicle showed to be stolen,” said Interim Police Director Mike Rallings.

One man hopped out and was arrested.

Two others tried to drive away, barreling into a blue dumpster.

“At some point, shots were fired,” said Rallings. “The suspects were later taken into custody.”

Despite initial reports, police said they don’t think any of the suspects shot at police, but police did shoot them.

“We think the suspect could have been bit by a Police K9 and we do believe the suspect suffered a gunshot wound.”
