MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A newly graduated Shelby County Corrections deputy was critically injured in a shooting Friday, and Memphis Police say her 15-year-old daughter is charged with attempted murder.

The shooting happened around 11:30 a.m. Friday in the 2800 block of Treasure Island at the Eden at Watersedge Apartments in Fox Meadows.

Memphis Police said one woman was shot and transported to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the woman shot was a corrections deputy who graduated Thursday night from the academy.

Later Friday, police revealed that the woman’s daughter had been charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault/domestic violence.

Neither the victim nor her daughter have been identified.
