Shelby County employees recognized for years of service

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County officials met on Tuesday to recognize the employees who have served our community for over 25 years.

According to the Shelby County Mayor’s Office, service awards were given to 120 government employees during a ceremony at the Butcher Shop.

Special recognition was even given to Allen Medlock, the Administrator of the Shelby County Building Department and Code Enforcement Section.

He’s now been working with the county for 50 years.

“Rarely does someone give 50 years to a career,” said a spokesperson with the Shelby County Mayor’s Office. “What’s more, he’s still on the job!”
