MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputy was taken to Methodist Germantown Hospital after a car accident.

That crash happened at Lucite and Old Millington Road just before 10 p.m.

According to a spokesman, the deputy struck a pole with his cruiser, deploying the air bag.

WREG was told the deputy was alert when paramedics arrived, but was sore and had burns on his arm from the airbag.

No word yet on what exactly caused that crash.
