(Germantown, TN) A Collierville High School teacher is under arrest after a standoff with Germantown Police.
Michael Halliburton was arrested after police say he beat his wife with a knife sharpener inside their inside a house near Dogwood and Windy Oak.
Halliburton’s wife Virginia was found outside the home with her juvenile daughter and taken to The MED where she is listed in serious condition.
Mrs. Halliburton told police the couple were arguing about their pending divorce when he started beating her with the knife sharpener. She told police the daughter was screaming at her father to stop. Eventually the mother and daughter made it to the garage where a neighbor came to help and took the sharpener away from Michael Halliburton.
Halliburton stayed in the house, eventually surrendering to police.
Halliburton is charged with aggravated assault.
