(Jackson, TN) A Madison County Sheriff’s deputy has resigned after testing positive for marijuana.

22-year-old Deputy William Jay Wyatt chose to resign instead of having to face a disciplinary hearing.

It is not his first violation on the job.

According to his personnel file, Wyatt was suspended for two days for inappropriate Facebook postings in October of last year.

In November, he was suspended for three days for disregarding a direct order.

Wyatt had been with the department since 2010.
