UPDATE, August 8: Willie Douglas, 24, is charged with Second-Degree Murder, two counts of Aggravated Assault, two counts of Reckless Endangerment with a Deadly Weapon, and being a Convicted Felon in Possession a Handgun.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is dead after being shot in Frayser Tuesday night, Memphis Police say.

A little after 7 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 1600 block of Alta Vista Drive.

They found a woman and she was taken to Regional One in critical condition, where she later died.

MPD says it was a dispute between two men. This is an ongoing investigation.

The city’s data hub shows from August of last year to now there were 11 homicides within a one-mile radius of the overnight attack.
