MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was shot in South Memphis on Wednesday morning, according to Memphis Police.

A little before 6:30 a.m., officers received a shooting call. The incident happened at South Parkway East and Florida Street.
Employees at the Marathon Gas Station told WREG that the driver was shot at another location. While driving down South Parkway, he allegedly lost consciousness and crashed into a pole.
The employees reportedly ran to check on the driver.
“When we went over to check on him and make sure he was okay, we noticed that he had two gunshots– one in the mid-section of the stomach area and the other in the upper left side of the chest,” an employee said.
Memphis Police say the victim had an apparent gunshot wound, but the exact location of the shooting was not immediately known.
The employee also added, “Once that adrenaline hit him, he opened his eyes. He didn’t actually speak out but he nodded that he had been shot.”
The victim was taken to Regional One in critical condition.
