(Memphis) Six people have been charged after a raid that ended with a Memphis police officer being accidentally shot by another officer.

Members of the Organized Crime Unit served a warrant at 4047 Berkshire around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.

When officers entered the home, one of the officers was charged by three pit bulls.

The officer started shooting, killing two of the dogs.

According to police, “The buckshot pellets from the shotgun rounds penetrated the sheetrock and exited through the wood structure of the house striking OCU Officer Calvin Taylor who was outside securing the rear of this location.”

Officer Taylor was hit in the leg and is recovering.

Six people inside the house have been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Manufacture/Deliver/Sell Cocaine.

Police say they found, “5.3 grams of crack cocaine, a fully loaded Glock .40 caliber handgun, a stolen Taurus revolver loaded with five rounds, a digital scale, and two Lortab pills.”
