NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Six people are dead after an early morning crash involving a bus on Interstate 40.
Several other people were taken to hospitals with injuries following the crash which happened around 1 a.m. Friday in North Little Rock.
Police say the bus left the roadway and struck an abutment on the North Hills Boulevard overpass over Interstate 40.
KTHV-TV reports the bus was headed to Texas from Michigan.
CBS News in Detroit reports the owner of the bus sold it last week to Vasquez Citrus & Hauling of Lake Placid, Florida. for $8,000.
The driver of the bus has been identified as Roberto Vasquez, 28, of Monroe, Michigan.
The driver agreed to be tested for DUI.
There are reports the bus was full of workers headed to Texas.
State Troopers are working with federal authorities and the Mexican Consulate to make notification of the deaths to next of kin who may be out of country.
