COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — Six people were taken into custody as police were investigating several auto burglaries in Collierville.
Collierville Police said burglars targeted cars in the Dogwood Creek Apartments and Almadale Farms neighborhood. Six people were arrested, and so far police have recovered two stolen vehicles.
Mike Gresham’s elderly father fell victim to the rash of car burglaries.
“People just came into the car and literally started taking stuff out of the car,” Gresham said.
Gresham said they didn’t know they were victimized until police started knocking at their door. And unfortunately, they weren’t alone.
Gresham said he’s relieved some suspects have been captured.
“It’s a pretty scary thing,” he said. “It’s amazing what the world has come to these days.”
Neighbors are hoping the arrests will put a stop to what they say is a growing problem. We have learned one of the recovered stolen vehicles was from Memphis, and the other from Hernando. But this investigation is still ongoing.
