DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn — WREG spoke with Decatur County Sheriff Keith Byrd Sunday night about a skull found near the search area for Holly Bobo.

Holly Bobo was last seen April 13, 2011, when her brother told authorities he saw Bobo following a man in hunting clothes into the woods near the family home in Darden.

He said hunters found a human skull shortly after 10:30 Sunday morning.

Byrd said it is far too early to speculate whom the remains belong to.

He said TBI will return Monday morning.

A deputy is on scene to make sure the scene is not tampered with.

The search scene is in the northern part of the county near suspect Zachary Adams’s home.

He is facing kidnapping and felony murder charges for the death of Holly Bobo.

Sheriff Byrd said he was in touch with Bobo’s family Sunday.

“They have very mixed emotions about the whole thing. I mean, you know, they’re desperately seeking closure,” Byrd said.
