(Memphis) Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty and The J.M. Smucker Company announced Tuesday the company’s decision to invest $55.6 million in it’s current Memphis facility and convert it to a peanut butter manufacturing plant.

The change will support the long-term growth of the company’s peanut butter business and bring 125 jobs to Memphis once renovations are completed at the building located at 4740 Burbank Road in 2014.

Officials in Memphis, Shelby County, The State of Tennessee and EDGE have been working with Smucker for a year to find an alternative to closing the plant.
