LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Miss. — A man from Oxford, Mississippi was killed in a crash Sunday morning.

Anthony Hervey, 49, of Oxford died when the SUV he was driving went off the road then overturned.

The crash happened on Mississippi Highway 6 near the Lafayette and Pontotoc County line around 11:20 a.m.

Arlene Barnum, who was a passenger in the SUV was being treated for minor injuries.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating what happened.

Barnum posted on her Facebook that the SUV was being chased.

Barnum, who is from Oklahoma, was returning from a pro-Confederate flag and Southern history rally in Birmingham.

Both, who are black, have been very vocal supporters of the Confederate flag, which has some saying the crash was foul play.

Investigators though have yet to say if another car was involved.

Barnum posted a video from her hospital bed Sunday night.

This is a video of Hervey speaking at the Birmingham rally held Saturday.
