DESOTO COUNTY, Miss — A lot of Mid-Southerners spent the day cleaning up after Tuesday night’s storm barreled through.

Some roads were impassable a day after.

The strong winds and rains caused power outages, downed trees and a real headache for drivers.

Brantley Road was closed much of the day Wednesday. Although there was a road closure sign up, some drivers were still taking chances and going up and down the road.

The DeSoto County sheriff said most of the roads there are in good shape.

A spokesperson with TDOT said there were road closures in Haywood, Dyer and Crockett counties.
