(St. Francis County, AR) Officials at a Forrest City college said they will not allow faculty and staff to carry concealed guns on campus, despite a new state.

The board of trustees at East Arkansas Community College voted to opt out of the law passed by lawmakers earlier this year.

The law allows faculty and staff with concealed-carry permits to carry the guns on campus unless the institution opts out.

Officials are reportedly looking into hiring extra armed security officers as an alternative.
