MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Light snow has made its way to the Mid-South with small snow flurries melting as they hit the ground Monday morning.
This comes after our latest cold front blew through the region, bringing high winds and heavy rain Sunday. This will leave us below normal temperatures for the rest of the week, including overnight lows in the lower 20s.
However, it will feel more like mid to high teens.
With some wraparound moisture still in play, we’ll likely see flurries or light snow showers off and on during the day on Monday, but there won’t be any accumulation.
While the weather will be quiet for most of the week, it will be quite cold.
Temperatures will be close to 20 degrees below normal for several days, with highs in the 30s and lows in the teens/20s. It will be cold enough that you’ll want to drip your faucets at night to be safe.
As it stands right now, there is potential for a winter storm to impact the Mid-South late Thursday night into early Friday morning.
What exactly that will look like in terms of snow and/or ice accumulation is something that will become clearer in the coming days as we gather more data and model output comes into better agreement.
Stay tuned!
