Student Arrested After Saying He Wanted To Shoot Romney

(Elyria, Ohio)A 19-year-old man is in custody after he made a threatening comment against Mitt Romney during class, the Elyria Police Department reports.

Officers arrested Shaquille L. Brown for inducing panic Monday morning at Lorain County Community College.

According to a police report, Brown was in an English class when he blurted out: “Can we leave, because Romney is in town and I want to go shoot him.”

The teacher told police that she was stunned to hear Brown’s comment, and informed him that by law she’d have to contact police.

When Brown was escorted to the security office, he allegedly said to an officer: “I don’t even have a gun to do it.”

The Elyria Police Department then contacted the United States Secret Service, which sent an agent to interview Brown.

Brown is being held in the Lorain County Jail.
