CONWAY, Ark. — A University of Central Arkansas student was arrested on Monday after posting an anonymous threat on social media.
According to THV11, police found a post on Yik Yak Friday that read, “Fellow Yaks, you all seem like good people, and I care for you, so if you read this, please stay in your dorms or off campus next Wednesday, I care too much for you all to fall victim of the event.”
Less than an hour later the University Police were able to identify the poster as student Samuel Davies and arrested him on Monday on the university campus.
He could face terroristic threatening and communicating threat charges.
Police searched the suspect’s home and said they found no weapons or anything else that would lead them to believe he intended to carry out an attack on campus.
Davies even claimed the whole thing was a dare.
Despite that, police and university officials are keeping an eye out for any danger in the next couple of days.
