MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An overnight shooting left one person in critical condition and police searching for four suspects.

The victim told police walking near Naylor and Yale around 1 a.m. Thursday when four men, who he didn’t know, in a white four-door vehicle opened fire.

He was reportedly shot and ran to a home down the block where additional shots were fired.

One woman, who didn’t want to be identified, says she heard the commotion and her son’s friend crying for help.

“We heard gun shots. My son came outside, and he was running towards us saying he had been shot,” she said. “They shot him. They got up and shot him.”

As for the victim, he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He’s expected to be okay.

Officers say they found his cell phone, flip flops and a large amount of shell casings throughout the block.

All of the suspects fled from the scene.
