TBI director speaks on officer involved shooting case

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Director Mark Gwyn with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spoke to the press on Wednesday on the case involving Memphis Police Officer Connor Schilling and 19-year-old Darrius Stewart.

The news conference began with Gwyn giving his condolences to Stewart’s family, saying he realized how difficult this time was for them and the entire community.

He then went on to say he had spoken with District Attorney Amy Weirich who agreed to release all keys facts to the public once the investigation was completed.

Meantime, he urged the public to be patient and let them do their job.

Director Gwyn finished by stating at the end of the day the TBI was pressing for openness, integrity and professionalism during and after this case.

With that in mind, he urged the public also to come forward with any information they have about this case.
