RIPLEY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has looked into allegations regarding Ripley High School Joe Bridges having unlawful sexual contact with a former student.
The TBI said it did find enough evidence to corroborate the victim’s report and make a strong case for prosecuting Bridges, however Bridges can not be prosecuted because the statute of limitations has expired.
The student came forward with the allegations in November 2015. Lauderdale County Schools informed the TBI, which then started the investigation.
The student said Bridges had sexual contact with her when she was a student from when she was 16 in 2003 until she graduated in 2005.
Bridges has denied all claims against him.
