The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said the 16-year-old posted a picture of a AR-15 with the caption “don’t come to school tmrrw.”
“We showed the teacher. The teacher called up the principal. The principal went and investigated it,” said student Charlie Spencer. “I’ve seen him in the halls, but I’ve never thought anything about him. Just another face.”
The student was taken into custody when he showed up to school in the morning and is now in juvenile court, charged with reckless endangerment.
A sheriff’s spokesman said the teen did not have a weapon when he was taken into custody.
The spokesman also said classes resumed as usual.
