CHICAGO — A teen from Chicago is facing some serious charges after he allegedly posted a video to social media of himself pouring scalding water on a cat.

WMAQ reported Leon Teague was charged with one felony count of animal torture and a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty after the video was posted to Facebook Tuesday night.

In the video, someone could be heard calling the cat over to a window.

Moments later the scalding water was thrown on the animal.

The cat could be heard howling in pain before sprinting off the porch.

Once reported, officers said they did find the cat alive, but when they went to help it, it ran away.
