COAHOMA COUNTY, Miss. — An 18-year-old was left in critical condition Saturday night following a drive-by shooting at a high school graduation party in Coahoma County, a relative of the victim said.

The victim’s family identified her as Lamonshae Williams.

She says Williams was shot at a graduation party in Jonestown, Mississippi after she received her diploma from Coahoma Early College High School that same day.

Williams was shot in the stomach and was taken to Regional One Hospital.

Monday morning, Williams’ mother said her daughter was alert but they’re still not out of the woods. She’s already undergone several surgeries and will have others.

The mother said the shooting took place as a large group was leaving a graduation party. She didn’t have the exact street but said investigators were able to get some surveillance video they’re looking at. The shooting was near city hall.

She said others were injured as well but she believes they are going to be OK.
