MEMPHIS, Tenn. — As family and friends of murder victim Marlo Williams gather for a vigil Thursday, WREG learned more about the what allegedly happened after he was shot and killed.

A concerned parent shared a disturbing Snapchat with WREG, depicting the victim after police said 16-year-old murder suspect Sebastian Vaughn shot him Monday.

The parent said Vaughn sent the picture to his friends.

Juvenile Court confirmed Vaughn was charged with second degree murder.

He has had contact with the juvenile system before on misdemeanors but settled out of court.

The idea of a 16-year-old possibly murdering someone has people across Memphis speaking out.

Stevie Moore with Freedom from Unnecessary Negatives (FFUN) aims to reach young people before they reach this point.

“We’ve got to catch them before they get to the stage where they’ll just pick up a gun and shoot somebody,” he said.

MPD would not confirm anything about the Snapchat Thursday, telling WREG it remains an “ongoing investigation.”

IHOP and Williams’ family told WREG there will be a vigil in the IHOP parking lot on Sycamore View Thursday night around 8 p.m.

IHOP will be closed Thursday from 7-9 p.m.
