The annual CMA Music Fest was held June 7-10, 2012 in Nashville, TN.
The festival set a new attendance record with daily attendance topping 71,000 fans compared to 65,000 in 2011.
It was a sell-out for the third consecutive year at LP Field with many MidSoutherner’s in the audience.
“Third time’s the charm and to achieve a sell out for a third straight year and increase attendance says a lot about the strength of this event, the dedication of our fans, the support of our industry and local community, and the popularity of our music and artists,” said Steve Moore, CMA’s chief executive officer.

The CMA Foundation donates proceeds from the event to music education on the artists’ behalf through CMA’s Keep the Music Playing program. To date, CMA has donated more than $6.1 million to the cause.
Just up the road, Bonnaroo organizers estimate 100,000 people attended the four day festival in Manchester, TN.
In east Tennessee, the Dollywood theme part is also bringing in record numbers of guests.
The park is a tribute to Dolly Parton and to the area where she grew up. Live shows, crafts and country cooking are featured as well as numerous thrill rides.
The newest coaster, Wild Eagle, has been the main draw for those wanting a cool “breeze” while in the park.
Pete Owens heads up public relations at the park, “We’re pleased with how we’re performing so far this year. Wild Eagle opened as the first wing coaster in the US and that is a great attendance driver. You couple a great new ride with the incredible shows and festivals Dollywood has on a daily basis with an affordable price and you have a great combination for families.”
The first ride of its kind in the U.S., Wild Eagle is perched 21 stories above Dollywood and takes riders on a unique experience that feels as if they are actually soaring high above the Smoky Mountains.
Instead of on the track, Wild Eagle seats riders on either side of the track so that there’s nothing but air above and below the rider!

Also drawing large crowds is Dolly’s Splash Country water park which sits adjacent to Dollywood.
