JACKSON, Tenn. — Clowns may be inching closer and closer to Memphis.
The recent clown panic started with complaints of clowns trying to lure kids into the woods in South Carolina.
A few days ago, a teenager in Coffee County here in Tennessee reported being attacked by a clown.
Now, the Tennessee Department of Safety posted an image they said was of two clowns seen around Jackson.
However, the department later removed the post and corrected it to say the photo was not taken locally. However, it said clowns have indeed been reported in Tennessee.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol also tweeted the photo and warning to watch out of clowns trying to lure children into the woods.
“They are possibly child predators looking for an easy target,” the Tennessee Department of Safety wrote.
As always, be wary of any unknown person trying to lure you or others away from safety, and watch your kids when they are outside.
