MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The state of Tennessee received some well deserved recognition for its Zoos and Aquariums.
The travel site TripAdvisor released its Travelers’ Choice Awards which named the top attractions from around the world.
The award was based on the millions of reviews the site received from travelers around the globe.
The Memphis Zoo came in at number 8 for the best Zoos in the United States.
The list also included the San Diego Zoo, Henry Doorly Zoo, St. Louis Zoo, the Zoological Wildlife Foundation, Cape May County Park and Zoo, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, Zoo Miami and the San Diego Safari Park.
The Tennessee Aquarium and the Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies made the Top 10 list for the best aquariums in the United States, ranking number 3 and 4 respectively.
The following aquariums also made the list: Georgia Aquarium, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, Shedd Aquarium, National Aquarium, Dallas World Aquarium, Alaska Aquarium, and the Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters.
Ripley’s also made the list for the Top 10 Aquariums in the world.
