FORT WORTH, Texas — A mom in Texas is making sure her son doesn’t miss out on anything just because she is a single parent.

Yevette Vasquez wrote in a Facebook post how she was dropping her son Elijah off at school and noticed there were more cars than usual. Her son told her it was for “Donuts with Dad,” and she sprung into action.

She drove back home and put on a baseball cap, a plaid shirt, a chain and a fake mustache.

“I wasn’t about to let him miss out,” she wrote. “I know seeing other dads with there kids isn’t easy for mine but its life, at least I can do whatever it takes to put a smile on that face.”

Vasquez told KDFW she was nervous about the reaction to her going to the school dressed like a man, but she is glad she did it and is overjoyed by the many positive comments she received.
