The Salvation Army recognizes everyday heroes at Hardin Annual Dinner

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It was a night of hope and healing at the  Hilton Memphis on Tuesday as hundreds of volunteers gathered to recognize some of the men and women of The Salvation Army.

The 2016 Hardin Annual Dinner also recognized military service members, police, fire and first responders, while raising funds for the organization.

Those honored included Wayne McCullough, Akasha Samuel, Arthur Oliver, Mike Ducker & Rose Flenorl, Charlie Martin, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Peggy Duke, and Christina Roberts.

Lt. Col. Oliver North was also in attendance Tuesday night, sharing his inspiring stories of everyday heroes.

Lt. Col North is a 12 time New York Times bestselling author, the host of War Stories on the Fox News Channel, and a 22-year Marine with a silver star, bronze star and two purple hearts to his name.
