This Ingredient Will No Longer Be In Some Sports Drinks

(Atlanta, GA) The Coca-Cola company has agreed to stop using a controversial ingredient.

It’s known as BVO, which is brominated vegetable oil, and the company says it will stop using it by the end of the year.

Bromine is also used as a flame retardant.

That link was enough for a Mississippi teenager to build widespread support through a petition on change.org.

After 200,000 people signed it, Pepsi Co. agreed to remove BVO from Gatorade.

Now, Coca-Cola is following suit.
