Three polling locations changed, two renamed

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. –Three polling locations have changed and two have been renamed ahead of the August 7th general election.

Affected voters should have received a card notifying them of the changes.

If you voted at Corry Middle School (Ward 60, Precinct 3), your new voting location is Norris Ave. Baptist Church (1437 Norris Ave.).

If you voted at Lanier Middle School (Ward 76, Precinct 4), you’ll vote at Christ United Baptist Church (929 E. Raines Road).

Those who voted at Graves Elementary School (Ward 77, Precinct 1) will now go to Unity Christian Church (3345 McCorkle Road).

The first two were schools that have closed, and the third was changed because the original location wasn’t compliant with the ADA.

The two polling places whose names changed were Prescott Memorial Church (961 Getwell Road) and LaBelle Haven Baptist Church (6825 E. Holmes). The former is now known as Freedom’s Chapel Christian Church, and the latter is now New Life in Christ Fellowship Church.

Early voting, which ends August 2, is already underway.

There are 21 locations available for early voting.

They’re open weekdays  from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:
